A New Addiction

For years I have read and heard news reports about blogging. I've even noticed that Google's news page contained many blog posts to relate news stories, but I stayed clear. If a news story was a blog, I was less likely to give it credit as a news story and more likely to assume it was an expression of a persons point of view on a real story. I can't say that my opinion of news blogs has changed but my opinion of blogging in general has.

Blogs have become a new addiction for me. I think about things I want to say and can't wait to see what others have posted. I follow links from one profile to another looking for new and interesting s bloggers to follow. I spend almost as much time here on Blogger as any other site (except Facebook - but that is another story). I love to read what others have to say. I have started following several bloggers after reading only one post. And while there have been some that I have seemed to lose interest in, I haven't stopped following them - hoping that they will post something that will draw me back to them.

  1. Great blog! I agree, blogging has become an addiction for me as well. It's a great outlet and have met a lot of great people through it!

  2. Blogging has become a serious addiction for me as well. I started with one blog, intending to make people laugh. Then I started following bloggers who created writing 'competitions'. Which made me rediscover my love for writing. Which lead to a writing blog. Then I bought a digital camera, which begat the photo blog, then one for my small business, then ...

Well, you can see it's a problem.

And as for Facebook. Don't even get me started! I am so completely addicted to Farmville -- it's embarrassing really.

There must be a 12-step program for people like us.

  3. Love this post! Looks like the Blogger Bug caught you, too. Blogging really opens our eyes to different ideas and ways of thinking. I'm all for that :)

  4. It's so much fun, isn't it? I didn't expect to like it so much... and I do! Glad you got sucked into the madness right along with me:)))

  5. It was a freak accident that I got into blogging and I am so glad I did. It is extremely cathartic, you form amazing bonds with people, you get an outlet to share your stories, read other people's experiences - the list is endless..
BTW, thanks for your kind words on my blog :)
